Lifelong Friendship

Created by Roger 3 years ago
I met David in 1966 when he worked in the south of England. We met through the Mid Wessex Christian Camps organisation and went walking, sailing, climbing and caving together.  You always knew when David was ‘around’!  Nan went to the same primary school as Irene and later met David when they were ‘going out’ together. When David returned to Scotland, I got a job in nearby East Kilbride. I enjoyed ‘digs’ in the family home and then later with David’s brother and his wife, Charlie & June. When David and Irene got married, we were both invited to the wedding. They thought we would make a happy couple and so they sat us next to each other at the wedding reception and the rest is history!  We always say that we had an ‘arranged’ marriage! We’ve been great friends for well over 50 years. We will miss him. With much love, Nan & Roger
